1. Acceptance

By using the Shop Assistant service ("Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Shop Assistant is an AI-powered shopping assistant that accepts voice or text queries, refines searches via feedback, and redirects users to merchant product pages. The Service is provided via API for integration into third-party applications.

3. EU AI Act — AI Transparency

Shop Assistant is an AI system that interacts with natural persons (Art. 50, EU AI Act). In compliance with transparency obligations:

  • Users must be informed that they are interacting with an AI system
  • This information must be provided in a clear and distinguishable manner at the latest at the time of first interaction
  • Integrators of the API must ensure end users are informed accordingly

Shop Assistant is designed as a limited-risk AI system. We do not perform emotion recognition, biometric categorisation, or deep fakes.

4. Use of the Service

You agree to:

  • Use the Service only for lawful purposes
  • Not abuse, overload, or attempt to circumvent the API
  • Inform your end users that they interact with AI when using the Service
  • Comply with applicable laws (GDPR, ePrivacy, EU AI Act, etc.)

5. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, API, and documentation, is owned by Alfares s.r.o. You receive a limited license to use the Service as permitted by these Terms.

6. Disclaimer

The Service is provided "as is". We do not guarantee accuracy of search results, availability of merchants, or prices. Product information comes from third-party sources. Users should verify information before purchase.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the Service.

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the Service at any time for violation of these Terms or for operational reasons.

9. Changes

We may modify these Terms. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Czech Republic. Disputes shall be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.
